Monique and I branched out this morning with oatmeal for breakfast. But we made it up with jambon sandwiches for lunch. School has been a lot of fun. Out teacher's name is Cecile, she is a little larger, and VERY animated. She makes us laugh so hard - and of course made me cry a few times from laughing so hard. There are 8 people in my class. A couple (in their late 50s) from South Africa, 2 girls and 1 guy from Australia and a girl from Chili. We are all just about the same level, so it makes it nice that we're all on the same page. Everyone has a good since of humor and we spent a lot of time laughing. Yesterday we had an exception to that, a policewoman from Kazakastan who didn't laugh at all, but she got moved to a different class, yay.
The one rule at school is absolutely no English (like Alliance Francais). There's actually a piggy bank that you have to put money in if you use English. In the middle of the morning we take a break and have tea and coffee. It's interesting getting to know people in French. The girl from Chili doesn't speak any English, so even if I wanted to, couldn't converse more than what we know how to say and however much we can understand in French.
During our class we talked about museums and things to do and see in Paris. Plus just asking practical questions that you don't learn in French class at the U of I.
Tonight we are going to go to the Louvre, we hear that it's free for students on Wednesday nights.
They're really into the world cup over here - lots of advertisements for it.
